Three Breakfast Places Near Oconomowoc, WI That Are Worth the Early Drive

Want to get your day started right? Pack the family into your Kia Seltos and head off to these spots. These are the best breakfast places in Oconomowoc, WI, and some of our favorite destinations for the day's most important meal.

Lake House Cafe

The Lake House Café is located at 662 E. Wisconsin Ave. and opens up at 6:30 AM for an early breakfast. The staff here is great, and the best thing about it is the fresh and delicious ingredients that go into every meal. This is not the cheapest place to have breakfast, but it may be the highest quality breakfast available in our immediate area.

They do a variety of delicious eggs benedict, including a seafood benedict that comes with crab, shrimp, and a chipotle hollandaise sauce. The peach pecan waffle is a delicious treat, and the black bear omelet comes with diced ham, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and two types of cheese. We also recommend their French crêpes and strawberry pancakes, and the kids will love the chocolate chip pancakes or the French toast.

Amalia's Family Restaurant

If you're looking for a traditional diner-style restaurant with good prices and a family-friendly atmosphere, try the spot at 183 E. Wisconsin Ave. It's in the Avenue Square Mall. They open from 7 AM every morning, but they get really hopping by about 9 o'clock, so come early if you don't want to wait. Breakfast is a specialty here, so the menu is extensive.

We would recommend the country-fried steak and eggs or the unusual and delicious Polish sausage and eggs. They also have a really nice Texas French toast, and the Lumberjack, which is a Belgian waffle with two eggs and three pieces of crispy bacon or sausage links. The Cin-a-Bun French toast with the blueberry glaze is also fantastic. If you don't want something sweet, try their homemade quiche or the grilled buttermilk breakfast croissant, which is topped with cheese and comes with scrambled eggs and ham, bacon, or sausage. They also have all kinds of combos and specials to explore and an extensive kids' breakfast menu.

Maxim's at Oconomowoc Depot

At 115 E Collins St, this train-themed restaurant is located in a 19th-century stone train depot is serving up delicious breakfast in a very cool location. They open at 7 AM every day and have a welcoming and family-friendly breakfast atmosphere.

Try their delicious omelets. We really like the Greek, which comes with gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, Greek olives, and feta cheese with a side of tzatziki sauce. You'll also enjoy their corn beef hash and eggs, and the Cowboy skillet, which is steak with vegetables and cheddar cheese on top of fingerling potatoes. They do some delicious gluten-free crepes, very nice pancakes and waffles, and an interesting and unusual strawberry bruschetta.

4 Signs Your Kia's Battery Needs Replacement

As a general rule of thumb, your Kia's battery will last three to five years, but several factors can influence its lifespan. Extreme cold and certain driving patterns, like frequent short trips or extended idling, can drain your battery. How can you tell when to schedule a battery replacement at your local Kia dealership? There are several signs to watch for. more 4 Signs It's Time To Schedule a Battery Replacement at Your Kia Dealership 1. Dim or Flickering Headlights The headlights are one of many vehicular components powered by your Kia's battery. If one or both headlights are flickering or don't seem to illuminate the road as brightly as they once did, that could be a sign that your battery is starting to weaken. Your Kia's sound system, power door locks, dash lights, and cabin lights are also powered by the battery, so a decline in the performance of any one of these features could signal battery trouble. 2. Slow Start The battery also plays an essential role in starting your vehicle. If your Kia's engine is slow to start, or if it takes a couple of attempts to get your vehicle going in the morning, your battery may be losing its power. If your Kia won't start at all, and you hear a clicking noise when turning the key in the ignition, that's another sign that the battery is the problem. 3. Battery Case Shows Signs of Wear There are several physical signs of battery damage or wear that indicate it's time for a replacement. If your battery case appears misshapen or bloated, that could indicate that the battery is overheating or overcharging. A battery that is damaged or not functioning as it should be replaced immediately. A battery emitting a rotten, sulfuric smell should also be replaced immediately because it may be leaking gas. Extensive corrosion on the metal components of the battery, which takes the form of a white or blue-green powder, is yet another sign that your battery may be aging and ready for replacement. 4. Illuminated Warning Light Identifying a failing battery doesn't require detective work or deep automotive knowledge. Sometimes it's just a matter of paying attention to the warning lights on the dash that light up to signal a problem. If your battery or check engine light comes on, it's time to call and schedule a time for our service department to check things out. It's always best to replace your battery as soon as you notice signs that it's deteriorating. That way, there's no risk of being stranded by a dead battery. When you're ready to schedule your Kia's next service appointment, give us a call at Ewald Kia Of Oconomowoc in Oconomowoc, WI.
